South East Londoner Tatyana makes dancefloor music inspired by Robyn, The Knife, and house legend Maurice Fulton, the kind that communicates via bright spiky synth and 2000s-era club production — so you’ll be surprised to know she also plays harp on most of her songs. In another life she was a professional harpist, but now she makes dance pop that's inspired by modern dating and the online world of internet-speak and therapy-speak. She’s recently released her self-produced album It’s Over, about a relationship that broke her brain: like all great electronic pop records it balances cold beats with body heat, seeking out all that’s human about dance music.
