Robin Kester’s upcoming new album was partly inspired by a pivotal drive around Wales and its ethereal and eerie beauty. The Dutch musician won listeners over with her 2023 debut album Honeycomb Shades, all swirling chamber pop and psychedelia, but for its follow-up she upped sticks to Bristol to record with acclaimed producer Ali Chant — weaving an atmospheric, warm tapestry that evokes Talk Talk, Air, Portishead, and the strange magic of the Welsh landscape as well as Robin Kester’s own unique charm.
