18-year-old Nancy Williams has only just swapped the home comforts of Merthyr Tydfil for the bright lights of London, but she’s already attracting some significant names: drumming up support from 6 Music’s Huw Stephens and recording her coming-of-age debut EP in Paul Weller’s studio, with Irish producer Darren Morrissey on hand to help craft songs that sound like a folkier Olivia Rodrigo. Her debut single is called I Don’t Wanna Grow Up — but seeing the way things are going so far, maybe it’s not an entirely unwelcome prospect.
