From her home studio at Flying Cloud Recordings, deep in the heart of the Catskills, musician and art model Hannah Cohen has created new album Earthstar Mountain: “a love letter to the Catskills but more so, a love letter to the interconnectedness of all; in her past, present, future and alternative selves, in her friends––here and gone––and in the mountain that peers through her windows”. She embedded herself in the New York art scene in the 2010s and began releasing albums the following decade. With poetry and jazz drumming in her genes, and surrounded by a creative community that includes her partner Sam Evian, Big Thief, Cass McCombs, Sufjan Stevens, and Clairo, it’s fair to say that magic courses through her songs.
