Sonically beefy, the love-child of Idles and Daniel Avery, Death Grips and Bicep: Chalk are Belfast’s finest purveyors of “techno-infused gothic post-punk”. The trio met in film school and have just released Conditions III, recorded in volcanic remote Iceland and the last in a trilogy of EPs that launched their career. Spiking Belfast’s sweaty hardcore dance scene with the ferocity of the recent boom in Dublin guitar bands, Chalk are conductors of cathartic racket who are likely to bring Green Man to its knees.
