Her songs feel like home, which doesn’t necessarily mean they sound anything like the British capital: her favourite instruments are the East Indonesian bamboo zither sasando, the Central Javanese zither siter, and the metallophone gendér barung, after all. The Polish multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and composer incorporates elements from the traditional folk of her Polish upbringing, her classical music training, minimalist production styles, Indonesian instrumentation, and playful experimentation — like body percussion and “broken Gameboy sounds”.
