Fat Dog’s reputation precedes them: their boisterous live shows take advantage of a roster of songs that seem written with a late-night sweaty festival set in mind. The south London group formed during the pandemic, and all these years on still appear to have a lot of pent-up energy to burn. Their debut album — called Woof, of course (what else?) — takes in Depeche Mode synth, metal muscle, dance, punk, klezmer, and macho bravado: all subsumed into one feral moshpit.
