Blur’s Graham Coxon and former Pipette Elinor Rose Dougall have joined forces to create what they call a “powerful elixir of cinematic British folk-rock, post-punk, organic songwriting, and freefall jamming”. Their agitated eponymous debut album came out last year — the name inspired by an old English spelling of “sea” — on which Rose provides vocal, piano, and synth, while Graham dips into his formal saxophone training and takes a turn on a very un-Blur-like mediaeval folk lute — as well as playing guitar, of course.
