Making good on such heady comparison’s, Michael Kiwanuka won many a head and heart with his own gorgeous take on soul music upon his 2012 arrival, scooping the BBC’s Sound Of award in the process. Inspired as much by folk and pop as he is the soul revival, Kiwanuka’s songs are a exquisitely realised, led by that stunning voice that underpins everything he does with an effortless sense of class. His second album, Love & Hate, was released last Summer and we can’t wait for him to bring a little sunshine to this year’s festival; no matter the weather.
